Healing times vary; most septum piercings settle within 6–8 weeks, though full maturation can take three to six months. Follow cleaning instructions, avoid unnecessary movement, and check with your piercer if swelling, discharge, or prolonged tenderness occurs.
Clean the area twice daily with a sterile saline spray or soak, avoid touching with unwashed hands, don’t rotate the jewelry, and avoid pools or hot tubs. Keep makeup and irritants away and contact us if signs of infection appear.
Avoid changing or removing jewelry during initial healing; doing so risks closure, migration, or infection. Wait until fully healed—typically several weeks to months—or have a professional piercer perform swaps to ensure proper sizing and sterile technique.
Initial piercing includes a 316 surgical steel circular barbell or horseshoe chosen for fit and healing. We offer retainers and upgrades to titanium, gold, or custom jewelry after healing to match your style and workplace needs.
